When God first called me to stand I felt like He was calling me to serve a prison sentence for a crime I did not commit.
He would tell me if you shall be my disciples pick up your cross and follow me.
The weight of the cross was too heavy sometimes I couldn’t bear it. Some people say God won’t put more on you than you can bear. I beg to differ. I learn that God will put more on you so you learn to cling to Him and He will bear it for you. He is a burden carrier and yoke breaker.
The mystery is not relying on your own strength then you can bear whatever comes your way because God dwells within you. Through learning this, the cross in return begin to carry me through my toughest times. I stopped crossing my fingers to see what works but staying at the foot of the cross.
To me standing sounded like bondage and would strip me of my freedom. But as I look back that was far from the truth. I learn what true freedom is and I was actually holding onto a false since of peace.
In all honesty, I felt standing was disrupting what I was ready for happiness, fun, and dating. That’s why I originally got married I just wanted to have fun and have someone to do it with.
Those things were fine and all but when I look back they had nothing to do with God but only to do with me. So I guess I will take that back. It’s not fine at all. Through standing God wanted more for me. His plans for my marriage were greater, better, and with great abundance.
It involved joy, peace, self control, love suffering, agape love, purpose, and calling. These are the things that truly gives God glory.
Standing is freedom, not bondage . If you feel bound and lacking freedom it may be because you hadn’t fully surrender to God. Your surrender will convey how much you truly trust God.
You will have to walk this faith journey blind folded, with your eyes closed, and your heart connected to God. Trust is knowing God is there when you don’t have any evidence that He is. But you know His word cannot tell a lie and you know He won’t leave you in storm to colonize but to breakthrough, and to break free!
True freedom will not leave your body in shackles and your mind oppressed. The freedom you desire will definitely come through your obedience to God.
